This README file contains the latest product information for the
Envoy (TM) 1.0a Distributable Viewer for Windows and Macintosh.
IMPORTANT: The Envoy Distributable Viewer only lets you view and
annotate existing Envoy files. In order to create or publish
Envoy files, you must purchase the full Envoy product.
NOTE: Although the Power PC Envoy Viewer is freely distributable,
it is not included in this Macintosh distributable installer.

1. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ENVOY DISTRIBUTABLE VIEWER
Windows System Requirements:
Hardware: PC with 386 processor or greater
System software: Microsoft (R) Windows 3.1
Minimum RAM: 500K free Conventional Memory
Free hard disk space: 1 MB
3.5" HD disk drive
Macintosh System Requirements:
Hardware: MacPlus or above to run the Envoy Distributable Viewer
System software: Version 6.0.5 or greater
Minimum RAM: 900K free
Free hard disk space: 1 MB
3.5" HD disk drive

2. INSTALLATION
1. If you are copying the Distributable Viewer from an online service,
copy the files onto your hard drive.
OR
If you have received the Distributable Viewer on a disk, insert the
disk into your computer's drive.
2. On Windows, run SETUP.EXE.
OR
On Macintosh, double-click INSTALL ENVOY DISTRIBUTABLE.
3. Follow the on-screen prompts.

3. GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING
Some features on the Envoy Distributable Viewer are dimmed (or
grayed). These may be features that function in the full Envoy
product but not in the Distributable Viewer. See "Use the Envoy
Distributable Viewer" in online Help for more information about
features in the Distributable Viewer and in the full Envoy product.

The following files are on the Windows Distributable Viewer diskette:
SETUP.EXE: The installation program
README.DST: This file
ENVOY.EXE: The Envoy Viewer executable
ENVOYUS.DLL: The U.S. English language resource file
WPEN10US.HLP: The online Help document
TTEMBED.DLL: A file that displays embedded TrueType fonts
MACINTOSH
The following files are on the Macintosh Distributable Viewer
diskette:
INSTALL ENVOY DISTRIBUTABLE: The installation program
LICENSE READ ME (DISTR): The Distributable Viewer license agreement
After installation, the following files appear in a Distributable
Viewer folder (the folder is called "Envoy Viewer (Distributable)" if
you chose the default folder name):
ENVOY VIEWER (DISTRIBUTABLE): The Envoy Viewer program file
ENVOY HELP: The Envoy online Help document
ENVOY HELP MEDIA: Graphics for online Help
EHELP ENGINE(TM) 4.0: The file that displays the online Help document
HELP FOR EHELP(TM): A file that explains how to use the online Help system
